Staying true...

I did fairly well, with some derailments today. I did follow the meal plan almost to the T. I had some homemade nougat, some trail mix (1/2 cup) and a handful of M&Ms. I did NOT have my end of night snack, so on the whole, I think I did ok.

Tomorrow's plan:

Pre-workout:
  • grape nuts serving
  • banana
Post-workout:
  • omelette-2eggs, veggies, cheese
Lunch:
  • out at Whole Foods...salad bar?
Dinner;
  • salmon steak
  • baked potato with cottage cheese (1/2 cup)
  • green beans
That's all I can think of for now...might update things tomorrow if I get organized.
Hooray! I actually remembered to weigh in this morning. The results were not positive I am sad to report! LOL 258.8 pounds. Nowhere to go but down!

I had a good morning so far. I had my pre-workout breakfast and then discovered that the exercise class I wanted to do was cancelled. BAH! Doesn't the gym realize it is hard enough to get there without someone ELSE making excuses for me? So, I met my hilarious workout buddy for coffee and even managed to have my bottle of water and banana only! Yay (killing two resolutions with one stone!)

And then, here's the best part...after she went off to her appointment...I went to the gym! I did 40 minutes of cardio and felt great when I was done. I also did one minute total of skipping. My goal is to work up to one minute without stopping with my final goal of 5 minutes solid. Who knew that a kids playground activity would be so hard??? Cinder-ella...dressed in yell-a...went upstairs to kiss a fell-a...

Upon my glorious return, I created a lovely omelette breakfast for me as seen here:

It was so yummy! I still have some fruit to eat and then its on to cleaning the house.

Until then...

Stay on target...stay on target...

Well, I missed the shot and didn't blow up the Death Star...good thing is, I did well on most fronts, so I am pleased. I had a chat with 4 cookies (they didn't make it...) so I cut out one of my dips. On the whole, the plan was followed! Now for tomorrow...

Pre-workout breakfast: -4
  • Yogurt
  • banana
  • water

Breakfast upon return: -7
  • 2 eggs
  • orange
  • pepper and mushrooms
  • shredded cheese, 1/4 cup
  • water
  • multivitamin
Snack: 4
  • almonds
  • apple slices
Lunch: 8
  • sausage
  • half baked potato with cheese, butter
  • salad with dressing
Dinner: 6
  • smoked pork chop
  • broccoli
  • peas
  • apple sauce
Ice cream sundae if I don't derail... 8 points

Forgot to weigh again today, so I need to tomorrow for sure.

For tomorrow, if I am heading for derailment, I need to choose a chore. Procrastination is my enemy...

Future post: Hubby as an inspiration.
Hmm...derailment...2:30 I had another portion of Cowboy Caviar and a cracker and 1/2 cup of soup. I need to get busy on something to take my mind off it. No guilt...moving on.

So far so good...

Breakfast has gone off without a hitch. With the banana, orange and cereal, I am feeling full...perhaps even a bit too full. It will be interesting to see if 6g of protein from cereal and the small amount from the milk will be enough to keep me going until snack time!

Happy January 1, 2009

Meant to start off the year with a weigh in, but completely forgot! I did manage to get a good start on the day with breakfast of 1 cup of cereal mix and milk, plus a glass of water. Had a yogurt at around 11:30 and then went to spin class. I really enjoy the spin classes and would like to go more often...three times a week would be great! After the spin, we had to dash to go pick up the guinea pigs that MonkeyBoy got for Christmas. The rescue was well-kept and the woman there was very patient with MonkeyBoy and managed to get us all sorted out. We have a male/female pair named Charlie and Lola. They are currently cowering in their luxurious cage. Tomorrow, Monkey will get up and feed them and tidy up their cage. I think this will be a good exercise for him in pet keeping and responsibility. Go MonkeyBoy!

I am keen to get this whole New Year, New You thing going. I am done at this weight and am ready to continue downward. Breakfast is easy and a no brainer for me. I can even make it to mid-morning snack without too much of a derailment. From around noon on, things start to get shady. Lunch can be safe if I am mindful of portions sizes, but from about 3-7, all bets are OFF! I think we can safely say that if I planned for these times, AND STUCK TO THE PLAN!!! I would see some succes in the weight loss department. Without further ado...the plan:

Breakfast: 6.5
  • one cup cereal - 3 points
  • one banana - 1.5
  • one orange - 1
  • 1/2 cup milk - 1
  • water
  • multivitamin
Snack: 5
  • Cowboy caviar (beans and avocado) 1/2 cup measured! 3
  • 3 sesame crackers -2
  • water
Lunch: 8
  • sandwich with ham, lettuce, tomato, light mayo, 1 slice cheese - 7
  • red peppers, tomatoes, lettuce in salad -0
  • 1 tbsp. dressing - measured - 1
  • water
Snack: 3
  • yogurt - 2
  • blueberries, 1 cup - 1
  • water
Dinner: 8.5
  • baked potato with cottage cheese (1/2 cup) - 3.5
  • brocolli 1 cup steamed -0
  • 1 sausage - 5
  • water
  • multivitamin plus calcium
Snack:
  • 2 skinny cow dipps -2
  • tea

33 points total from what I can remember...I suspect that I am supposed to be a little higher than that, but booking at all the food on that menu, I will be doing good to get it all in! I am really not great at getting water in during the day, so that will be my goal as well...

Alright, time for bed. Weigh in first thing in the morning and then greeting the day!
