Every year. Right about the 28th of December or so, I decide I need to take the proverbial bull by its horns and get this house sorted. This year will be different...this year I will conquer the mountain of clutter...this year I will stop putting off tackling the tasks, the filing, the ever-growing paper mountain....
Ah, the pressure. Can I do it? Will I do it?
Let's add the challenge of weight loss too while we're at it. And more timely correspondence with all my friends...and the resolution to devote more time to myself and family; to not spread the butter over to much bread. I have avoided resolutions for years. All the experts say that setting yourself up for failure isn't healthy, so I stopped doing it. And you know what? I stopped doing stuff. At least with a resolution set, I would get stuff done for a couple of weeks. Without one, I resolved to do nothing. Hmm...not so productive.
So this year, I am making them. Resolutions. May I keep at least some of them, and grow along the way.
I resolve to:
Write more letters
Save more
Exercise more
Eat less
Love more
Dedicate a day to my family near and far
Make my house a home
Practice being grateful
That'll do for starts.
Care to join me?
